Care
Metal Print Care Instructions
Metal prints need very little care. These simple habits keep yours looking as good as the day it arrived.
Everyday dusting
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth and wipe gently in one direction. Do this as often as you dust the rest of the room.
Fingerprints and marks
Lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water, or spray a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner onto the cloth, never directly onto the print. Wipe gently, then dry with a clean cloth.
What to avoid
- Paper towels, sponges and abrasive pads, which can leave fine scratches on gloss finishes
- Solvents, acetone, alcohol-heavy or abrasive cleaners
- Sharp objects, rings or tools touching the surface
Where to hang
- Indoor prints are made for indoor use
- Avoid placing art directly above a stove, a heater or an active fireplace
- Long hours of strong direct sunlight can affect any artwork over time; bright indirect light is ideal
Handling
Hold the print by its edges, with clean hands. Aluminum is strong but corners can dent if dropped, so take care when unpacking and hanging.
Storing
If you take a print down, store it flat or upright in a dry place, face protected with a soft cloth or its original packaging. Do not stack heavy items on top.
Kitchens and bathrooms
Aluminum does not warp or absorb humidity, so metal prints are a great choice for humid rooms. Keep them out of direct splashes and shower areas, and wipe off any condensation with a soft cloth.
